Saturday evening will see the Hull Wasps second season tip-off as they compete against the Middlesbrough Lions. The Lions are entering their first season in National League, a position that the wasps were in 12 months ago.

Second year guard Liam Wordsworth however, says no team will be taken lightly.

"Last season we looked to win every game and I am sure that the Lions will have the same mind set."

Wordsworth then commented on his own ambitions for this season.

"My goal is to help the Wasps win promotion and whichever way I can help the team do that, I will put in the work to see it happen. Personally I feel that I'm ready to have a breakout year and, hopefully all going well, it can lead to plenty of Wasps victories."

The Wasps face the Lions at Eston Sports Academy on Saturday evening (7.00pm Tip-Off) in the first round of the National Shield.
