Wasps to Hold Try-outs to Find the Regions Best

The Hull Wasps will be holding try-outs to find the best players across the region. Starting on the 2nd of June the Wasps will be holding 4 weeks of try outs and will put players through a series of drills and games to find out who the best players in the region are.

The newly promoted Wasps will be holding these sessions at Andrew Marvell School every Monday night through June and will select the final squad on the last night of the try-outs.

Head Coach Matthew Fawcett commented on the upcoming try-outs. "For the last few years we have not had open try-outs, I have already had the squad in place. The squad we had came through the open try-out format a couple of years ago and their success meant I never had to find other players.

We have recently lost a large part of our squad so I wanted to take everything back to the drawing board and find in my opinion the best 12 -15 players in Humberside. A lot of players want to play at the highest standard and prove they are the best, well Division 3 is currently the highest standard the region can offer so I challenge all the basketball players out there to come and prove they are in that elite group."

The details for the try-outs are as follows:

Monday 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd of June

8pm - 10pm, £3 per session

Andrew Marvell School, Barham Road, Hull, HU9 4EE

Players bring plenty to drink and arrive promptly

Coach Fawcett also highlighted that this is an opportunity for Under 18 Players. "For the first time we open our doors to anybody who wishes to try-out not only for the first team but also the Under 18 National League team. We want students who are aged 15 and over to attend the try-outs to see if they could claim to be in the elite group for Under 18."
