Rossendale Raptors 56 Hull Wasps 71

Hull Wasps made it 2 wins from their opening 2 league games with a 71-56 away win at Rossendale Raptors.

Wasps came flying out of the blocks against the home side and finished the opening quarter 17-6 ahead before another commanding 20-8 run in the second saw them 37-14 up at half-time.

The Raptors came back with a good run in the third-period to close the gap to 50-36 but it wasn’t enough as Wasps closed out the game in the final quarter to win 71-56.

Adrian Blatherwick top-scored for the Wasps with 19 points and James Rayner came second with 14.

Wasps travel to Northumbria in the second-round of the National Cup on Sunday hoping to cause an upset. Tip-off at the University of Northumbria is 5:00pm.
