Hull Wasps will travel over to the North West tomorrow in a bid to continue their recent upturn in form. Coming off the back of two big wins against Mersey Tigers II and Liverpool, the Wasps will face league-newcomers Mold Magic looking for their third straight win.
After a poor run of form at the beginning of the month, the Wasps have bounced back in incredible style in front of their home crowd defeating Mersey by 47 points and Liverpool by 26 points.
“We’re starting to reach the form we were in at the start of the season now” said Wasps head-coach Matt Fawcett.
“We’ve worked hard all season and the dip we suffered was a poor reflection of that work. We knew we could do better and we’ve started to find some rhythm again.
“It may look on paper that Mersey and Liverpool were both walk-overs but we played very well and had to dig deep at points in the game. What pleased me the most was our concentration levels. We were consistent throughout both games and we’ll have to do the same against Mold on Sunday.”
A third straight win would set the team up nicely ahead of the all-important clash against Bradford Maroons at home the following Saturday. Bradford should prove to be a much tougher test for Hull but it’s not a game that Fawcett is looking at too much right now.
“We have to focus on each game as it comes and prepare as well as we can. Right now, Mold Magic stand in front of us and that’s all we’re looking at.”
If Hull Wasps do come away with the win tomorrow they could move up to fourth in the National League 4 North table. There are no major injury doubts for the Wasps ahead of the game. Tip-off tomorrow at Mold Leisure Centre is 4pm.
