Wasps Ready for Reds

Hull Wasps continue their campaign at home tonight with the visit of Liverpool. Hull will be looking for another good win to back up last weekend’s 94-47 win over Mersey Tigers II and move further up the National League 4 North table.

The two sides have met a total of six times over the previous three seasons and the Wasps have taken the spoils on all occasions so far. Liverpool haven’t improved too much this season either losing four out of their five games so far with their only victory coming against newcomers Mold Magic. However, it’s not a game that Hull Wasps’ coach Matt Fawcett is taking for granted.

“It’s a dangerous game if we pay too much attention to their results so far” said coach Fawcett.

“Like any side in this league, they can compete on their day and if we turn up thinking that we’ve already won, we’ll be in for a big surprise. The stats are in our favour but that record won’t last forever.

“We have to make sure that we play our top game and come out fighting from the start. If we can produce the performance that we did last week, I’m confident of another win.”

The Wasps will face the Reds today at their temporary venue of Ennerdale Leisure Centre as the Bonus Arena is hosting its Christmas Winter Wonderland event.

The Wasps have no injury concerns ahead of the game tonight. Tip-off is at 6:30pm.
