Wasps Reach Play-Offs for First Time

Hull Wasps reached the National League 4 Play-offs after rivals Kingston Panthers failed to beat Gateshead Phoenix on Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers dramatic 76-75 loss meant that the Wasps finished second in Division 4 North, level on 18 team points with Panthers. But due to the head-to-head record between the two sides earlier in the season, in which Wasps won the first tie by 24 points and lost the second by 3, it created a 21-point winning margin for the Black and Yellow's sending the team to the play-offs for the first time in their history.

The first Play-Off game for Hull Wasps comes this Saturday, as they travel to Newcastle-under-Lyme College Knights in the quarter-final stage (2pm tip-off). Should Wasps be successful in that game, they'll go through to the semi-finals at the winners of BC Medelynas London vs. Middlesex LTBC on Saturday 29th or Sunday 30th March.

The Division 4 Play-Off Final will be held at Leeds Metropolitan University on Saturday 12th April, 1:15pm.

Finishing second means that the Wasps can now submit their application for National League Division 3 North for next season.
