The Wasps can keep their heads held high after what has been an extremely tough weekend on the road. In the second game of their double-header this weekend, Hull pushed their Yorkshire Rivals, Leeds Carnegie, all the way and lost the game by just 7 points.
The Wasps lost 74-67 but with just 1 minute to go in the game the Wasps were level with Leeds, who were and are now still sitting top of the table, but the quality within the Leeds camp, they managed to push on and win the game.
The Wasps were down as much as 24 points but managed to crawl their way back into the game to bring the scores level with just 1 minute to go. However Leeds' sharp shooting in the final minute gave them the 2 points.
"We pushed them all the way" said Matt Fawcett.
"It was a great game and one I thoroughly enjoyed playing in. It was a shame someone had to lose and especially us. We've worked very hard this weekend and I think we can keep our heads up after this 'cos this was a very tough weekend for the guys."
"We said before we came away this weekend that we would take 2 points from the weekend and we got them, but we're dissapointed that we lost out to Leeds, who although they are a fantastic side, we know we could have taken the 2 points there too."
