Hull Wasps tipped off against Liverpool with one aim; to return to winning ways and continue their impressive unbeaten run at home. Their opponents arrived with only six players, but if Wasps were expecting an easy win they were mistaken.
The first quarter was an evenly balanced one until a 10-4 run in the last three minutes, inspired by 7 points from Jonathan Low, gave Liverpool the early advantage at 14-17.
Ady Blatherwick levelled the scores at 19 early in the second quarter with two quick baskets, before James Rayner and Neil Rymer combined for 14 points to give Wasps the half time lead: 38-32.
Liverpool big man David Ulph began to find his rhythm in the third quarter and after contributing 6 points he reduced the Wasps' lead to 3 midway through the quarter. Unable to shake off their opponents, the Wasps turned to Neil Rymer, who scored 7 points in just over a minute and once again they led by 6. However, once again Liverpool replied with the final points of the quarter to trail by a solitary point, ending the quarter at 53-52.

Despite 4 late points from player-coach Niall Mullen and a 7th three-pointer of the game for the impressive James Richards, the Wasps held on to win 73-64.
