HULL Wasps triumphed over the Bury Blue Devils for the first time on Saturday evening with a solid 87-70 win at the Bonus Arena.
The home side put in a strong performance in the first half to all but see the game off.
A dominant display from the home side in the opening quarter saw them 29-14 ahead and they extended their lead further in the second period to take a 55-31 lead into the dressing room.
The Blue Devils stepped up and the Wasps took their foot off the gas in the third period as the visitors closed the gap marginally to end the third quarter at 66-52, still to the Wasps.
But Wasps secured the win with another strong quarter and closed out the game at 87-70.
Player-coach John Brignell top-scored along with guard Chris Cummings who put in an MVP performance for the Wasps. Rob Birchmore scored 12.
The Wasps move up one place into fourth, above Stockport Falcons II who lost at Huddersfield Heat.
