The Hull Wasps are edging closer to finding a new head coach and have today revealed that positive discussions have taken place and should be announcing a new head coach before the end of the week.

Previous head coach, James Coulson stepped down from his position earlier this month due to personal commitments and the club have been searching for a replacement to step in ahead of the new season.

Club Director, David Bushnell revealed: "It's been very positive so far. We've looked around at available options including internal and external coaches and we know where we are looking to take things. Talks have progressed well last week and I'm sure we'll be able to appoint a new head coach before the end of this week.

"It's important that a new coach is appointed sooner rather than later as we are now already one game into the new season. That saying, we don't want to rush our decision but we've worked hard and looked at several options and we are almost there."
