Wasps Celebrate Historic Season in Style

The Hull Wasps have had one of the best and biggest seasons
in the clubs short history. With over five teams, three national league teams
and one promotion clinching senior team the club has many reasons to celebrate.

The event took place at the Haven Arms in Hedon and was
attended by over 100 people who all either played, coached, volunteered or
cheered the Wasps this season.

Historically there are seven awards for the senior team with
the most important being the MVP award. This season the award was won by John Stewart.
John has had a fantastic season at the club and has been a huge catalyst for
the Wasps success. He was voted runner up player of the season and was a clear
favourite for the Hoopsfix player of the year award.

Coach Fawcett who himself has just been voted runner up Coach
of the season in the England Basketball awards, commented on a spectacular
night and a wonderful season.

"The atmosphere tonight has been fantastic, we have
celebrated the achievements of players who have given their all to the club
this year and we hope that this will continue for years to come. This season
has been one of the best I have been a part of. People I think counted us out
too quickly after we lost a couple early and I knew if we took care of our
games we would be in a position to be successful. We now look forward to
competing in Division 3 and representing the city as the premier team."

Chairman David Bushnell who was honoured with a winner's
medal earlier in the evening also was jumping for joy. "We have been working
for this for over five years and to do this in way we have is just fantastic.
The club has a family feel now and we only want to get bigger and better!"

Other teams that celebrated their achievements on the night
included the league winning Premier team, the ladies team and two junior teams.
