Wasps Bounce Back to Beat Maroons

Hull Wasps bounced back from last weekend's away defeat to open their home account with an 81-26 win over Bradford Maroons. In a solid all-round team performance, the Wasps got off the mark through new-boy Mark Baker and never looked back.

The visitors only suited up five players; however, the Wasps still did a professonal job, despite missing this season’s leading scorer Ben Burns, and were never in trouble.

Wasps won all four quarters with ease, thanks in no small measure to tough defence. Kelsey and Rymer combined for 9 steals whilst big Matt Wilson had 2 blocked shots to go with 7 boards and 11 points.

All in all, ten Wasps players contributed points, with Neil Rymer top scoring with 15 points in his first match of the season, whilst Mills and Baker combined for 20 rebounds as they dominated from start to finish.

Final score 81-26.

Scorers; Rymer 15, Brutnell 14, Wilson 11, Dawson 9, Baker 8, Fawcett 7, Blatherwick 7, Hewson 6, Mills 2, Kelsey 2.
