It's back! The Derby Cup is back again for 2009 on Saturday 11 July at 5pm. The annual club fundraiser will this year be hosting former National League side, Scarborough Seahawks.

The Derby Cup is an annual event hosted by the Hull Wasps in order to help raise funds for the club. The Wasps invite another Yorkshire club to compete for the Derby Cup every year and should they win the contest, they take home the trophy and automatically earn a repeat fixture for the following year.

Last year saw the Doncaster Falcons take on the Wasps at the Gemtec Arena in the first Derby Cup event, where the Wasps on 74-54 in their first match competing as the Wasps.

The upcoming event on Saturday 11 July will be hosted at the Gemtec Arena on Walton Street. Entry will be just £4 per Adult, £3 per Junior (Under-16) and FREE for children under 2. All funds raised will go toward the running of the club ready to compete in National League for the 2009/10 season.

On the night, the club will also be officially launching their new charity of the year, the KCFM Smile Foundation, where a large portion of the proceeds made on the evening will be donated to the new charity.
