The Hull Wasps have announced that they will be hosting a friendly game on Saturday 2nd May 2009 to be played at the Gemtec Arena on Walton Street. The newly formed basketball club have decided to raise funds for local charity, Dove House Hospice, through ticket and advert sales directly from the game.

The Wasps will play an ex-Hull Kingston Icebergs line-up, including those who played with former player, Jason Shakespeare, who was cared for by Dove House Hospice before sadly passing away a few years ago.

"It will be a great night for everyone involved. The club have been organising this game for some weeks now and we know how important it is for our club and players. We have raised money for Dove House Hospice for the past 2 years through the Hull Stingers and we're proud to continue our support through the Wasps." said club director, David Bushnell.

The game will tip-off at 6pm at the Gemtec Arena on 2nd May and fans are encouraged to get to the venue in plenty of time as the club are expecting a large attendance.
