Hull Wasps make a return to the Bonus Arena this weekend for an exciting double-header after the Christmas break.
The Wasps continued their excellent form with a fifth straight win at Oldham Titans on Saturday evening and now welcome high-flying Rossendale Raptors and Tees Valley Mohawks to the arena this weekend.
Rossendale have been a surprise package this season after making the step-up from local league. After recruiting former BBL professional Stephen Gayle, the Raptors have secured top-spot in the league with seven straight wins.
The Wasps defeated the Raptors earlier in the season but will certainly face a much tougher task this time around with the arrival of the league's top-scorer in Gayle.
Tees Valley Mohawks visit the arena on Sunday in the second game of this exciting double-header. The Mohawks will provide another stern test after they defeated the Wasps earlier in the season, but after a mixed run of results since then; the Mohawks are just seventh in the league with a 6-5 record.
Ahead of the double-game weekend, Wasps coach Matt Fawcett said: "We have two tough games this weekend.
"Rossendale are the league leaders and have played extremely well all season. Gayle will be their key man but his influence raises the players around him and they are a great team because of that.
"We have to play to our strengths like always and keep performing as well as we have done over the past five games. If we do that, I'm confident that we come away from the weekend with some great results."
"Hopefully we should have some of our more experienced players back this weekend and that will give us a big boost."
John Kelsey, James Rayner, Jason Munro, Miles Anderson and Liam Lacey are all hoping to make a return this weekend. Both games tip-off 7:30pm at the Bonus Arena.
