WITH an almost identical scoreline to the previous meeting, Hull Wasps suffered defeat for the second time at the hands of Wirral Hornets this season after another great game at Woodchurch High.
After a mix-up in fixture dates with the league, the Wasps travelled to Wirral on Sunday afternoon with only 7 first team players available. Kamil Pilarski, Jamie Goodwin, Jason Munro, James Rayner, Adrian Blatherwick, Rob Birchmore and Miles Anderson all made the trip and almost took the points after a great opening quarter.
Wirral Hornets pulled out the stops and brought themselves back into the game and took the lead at 39-37 going into half time.
A dominant display in the third allowed Wirral to pull away but a great fightback from the Wasps in the final quarter brought the scores a lot closer but it wasn't enough to take the points.
Kamil Pilarski top scored in a great all-round team performance with 25 points. Jason Munro scored 14 with Jamie Goodwin scoring 9.
