Brignell dives to rescue the ball against Stockport Falcons

The Hull Wasps lost out in a thriller at the Gemtec Arena on Saturday evening. In the Wasps first season in National League, they took last season's runners-up in the league, right down to the wire, and had some luck gone their way with a 3 point attempt on the buzzer from Rob Birchmore, the result could have looked a lot different.

The Wasps looked a side full of confidence and pride after some hard work in training in the past fortnight, aand a performance they can take a lot of positives out of. It was a tight game all the way from the first quarter to the last and when the Wasps were 9 points down with just 3 minutes to go, it looked game over. However, the guys kept their belief alive and their heads held high and restored some confidence back to the side.

John Brignell top scored with 29 points.
