The Hull Wasps suffered a set back in their push for promotion on Saturday evening when they lost out to Third place Tyne Met Trojans. The Wasps were without 3 key-men; Captain Jamie Goodwin, Neil Rymer and Chris McKenna.
With a tight and very even first half, the Wasps had the lead at both breaks, 22-19 and 41-40. However, during the third quarter, the Trojans started to take control and with some tough calls against the Wasps, victory became inevitable for the Trojans with minutes to go.
It is a disappointment for the Wasps, who after 3 wins from their last 4 games, were brimming with confidence, and this was evident in their first half display. Some things started to go against them and that ultimately became their downfall.
Matthew Fawcett put in an MVP performance; top-scoring with 29 points, including 5x three-pointers. John Brignell came second with 16.
It's now off to face Wirral next Sunday where the Wasps will be looking to get back on track and take all 2 points away from the North West team.
