The Wasps began summer with a bang in the north easy, with a nail-biting win over newly formed Tees Valley Sonics. The new Supersonics club have derived from the Tees Valley Mohawks II team from last season and who the wasps managed to pick up 4 points and a National Shield victory from last season.
The Sonics were kind enough to invite the Wasps to their big opening night but the Wasps didn't settle for any sense of occasion with a hard-fought victory over the Tees Valley club.
The Wasps displayed some new successful trialists in the victory who will be announced shortly over the coming weeks ready for the new season. Kamil Palaski top scored with Jamie Goodwin just behind in a game that was all-square at 34 points each at half time.
The official website will try to release a full report here as soon as possible. In the mean time, the club would like to welcome the new Supersonics to the league this season and can't wait for the contests during the season.
