Hull Wasps got back to winning ways on Sunday afternoon with an away win over 5th place Wirral Hornets. The Wasps, who won the fixture 75-66, showed how they can bounce back from the disappointment of last weeks home defeat to Tyne Met Trojans. Hull put in a fantastic performance to take the points away from the north west.

The Wasps took the lead early on and went into the first break 25-17 ahead. However, the Hornets came back with a good run and took the lead at half time, 35-33. In a very even third-quarter, the Wasps just edged it at the final break, 44-43, for them to push on and take the victory in the fourth, 75-66.

In an all-round excellent team performance, Ashley Rice & Jason Munro top scored with 20 points each, with James Rayner & Matt Fawcett both putting in 12 points each.

"Everyone played their part in this victory" said Assistant Player-Coach, Matt Fawcett. "We all worked extremely hard for this. We knew after last week that it was important to bounce back and send out a message of our intent for the season."

The only disappointment to come out of the game was an injury to fawcett at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Early indications suggest he will miss Saturday's home clash against Bury Blue Devils at the Gemtec Arena (7:30pm).
