Hull Wasps lost a well fought battle against top of the league Doncaster Falcons on Wednesday evening. Doncaster went into the game unbeaten and looked very confident. Even with ex-Hull Stinger Graham Cullo out injured the Wasps couldnt stop Doncaster's high intensity offense.
Both teams started out scoring and the Falcons took an early 7 point lead at the end of the first. It could have been more if not for John Kelseys 3x 3 pointers in a row. The Wasps couldn't find their momentium on defense so had to rely on the offense of Neil Rymer and Rob Birchmore. The Wasps went into the half 8 points down, and a lot of work to do.
Both teams stepped up defensively in the third and both teams scored only 8 points a piece in that quarter. The Wasps still trailed by 8 going into the fourth and still struggling to find their form. The Fourth quarter was end to end stuff with the Wasps coming within 1 with 4 minutes to go. This came down to James Rayners experience and found himself at the line on several occasions. However the Wasps couldn't stop Doncasters offence and ended the game losing by 8.
Reserves coach and captain Liam Wordsworth felt the team did well and came away happy with the performance despite the loss.

"Everyone played really well and everyone enjoyed the game. Doncaster are a very tough team and we feel that if we step up our defence next time they wont be so lucky."
The next reserves game is on the 19th November against Rotherham Hawks
