Last week Player Focus looked at the return of Jason Monroe. This week we turn our attention to James Rayner. After missing the the second half of the season Rayner has returned to the Wasps first team and will look to make a big impact.
James Rayner like others in the team is a product of the youth basketball team the Hull Stingers and played under 16,18 and under 20 before playing mens basketball for the Stingers senior team. After this Rayner joined the Lincoln Wildcats national league club for 2 seasons.
The wasps will look to benefit from the experience James brings to the squad. Rayner is an athletic presence who plays physical basketball. JR is a tough rebounder and doesnt give up on a play. Also James has a very nice touch from outside and can shoot long range with confidence. Dunks are something we are very use to seeing in the warm up from the 6ft 6 forward and coach Fawcett has plans to put those dunks to use on other teams when the season starts. "James is maybe the most athletic player in the league and will be a handful, what me and coach Crawford want from James is finishing plays strong this season and dunking the ball every chance he gets."
James Rayner will be counting down the days till the start of the season now so dont miss your chance to see him play when the season starts in September.
