In this weeks player focus we take a closer look at the return of combo guard Andrew Marr. Marr made his Wasps debut last season and was a fan pleaser all year.
Like some of the other squad members Andrew has played basketball for Hull at many different levels. Along with Rayner, Likupe, Brutnell and Coach Fawcett, Andrew played for the Hull Stingers Junior National League side at under 16 & under 18 level before making the transition into the men's senior squad at the age of 17.
Marr is now a seasoned player who has played as high as division 2 in previous seasons and his skill set is something that coach Fawcett is hoping to take advantage of this season. "Knowing Andy like I do I know what he is capable of. Last season he was very patient being the new face and waiting for his chance. Well now his chance is here. He will be a key factor to this seasons team. Marr is a player who can put the ball on the floor and find a gap to get to the basket and also knock down the open jump shot. These skills make his very effective and along with that he his a very tough defender."
Marr will look to come in and make a real difference this season and be one of the leaders of the team. With all his experience he will naturally know how to handle situations during the year.
Marr is currently training along with the rest of the first team to get ready for the season that starts in September.
