New Faces Join Wasps

WASPS head coach Matt Fawcett has made a reshuffle to his squad ahead of the 2012/13 National League season.

Seven new players have been drafted into the first team squad after a number of successful try-out sessions during May and June.

Guards Rob Dawson, Liam Wordsworth, and Neil Rymer have rejoined the first team from seasons past, while former Hull University player Arran Hayes and Scunthorpe Steelers guard Robin Hewson also joins the squad.

Forwards Mark Baker and Amir Nasr also join the first team along with 6’6” centre Matt Wilson.

Speaking about the new players, coach Fawcett said: “I’m very pleased to welcome the new faces to the Hull Wasps. I am really looking forward to working with a new set of players and working towards another run at the playoffs.”

Chairman Dave Bushnell was also quick to welcome the new faces to the club.

“I’d like to welcome the new players to the squad. It’s very exciting news as they really strengthen our team. They’re very motivated to do well here and I wish them all the best as they settle in with the squad.”

More player news is set to be announced over the coming weeks.
