Hull Wasps entertain Tees Valley Mohawks II on Saturday in the final league game of division 4 season. Visitors Tees Valley are currently riding high at the top of the table and can take a massive stride to securing the championship if they can beat the Wasps.

Wasps have played Mohawks twice already this season, defeating them in a thrilling National Shield encounter 88-80 at Ennerdale Leisure Centre and losing 90-76 in the league match in December. Mohawks have been front runners in division 4 all season having started with a 7-0 run.

They were recently knocked off the top after losing two matches but regained top spot last week when Stockport Spartans were surprisingly beaten by Newcastle Knights. This is without a doubt the Mohawks' best ever season in the National League as they currently boast a 9-2 record, and have a 54-56 all time record at this level. Wasps have dominated the previous encounters between the two sides, being victorious in 8 of their 12 matches.

Mohawks boast a squad with great depth which has been key to their success this season. Five different players have top scored for them but undoubtedly their key man is Michael Thompson who is averaging 19.1 points. Romann Nelson top scored against the Wasps in the previous league encounter and the speedy guard is capable of putting up big numbers as his 37 points v Mold Magic is testament too.

Johnathan Foulds is a big man who dominates the boards and is also a key contributor as are Lawrence Smith and Alex Moore. For the Wasps this is a must-win encounter if they are to clinch 4th spot, which would be their highest ever finish in division 4, however they must still rely on Newcastle Knights losing both their remaining matches.

Tip off at 6.30pm Saturday 9th March 2013 at Ennerdale Leisure Centre.
