Hull Wasps have boosted their squad ahead of the new National League season with the addition of guard, Andrew Marr.
Marr has spent the last season playing for the Hull Wasps D-Team, competing in the Doncaster League, making regular appearances as starting point guard.
He was awarded Reserve Team Player of the Year at the club’s first award ceremony back in May and was recognised by his coach as a top talent.
“Andy is a quality player” said D-Team coach, Liam Wordsworth.
“He will be a valuable team player to the first team this year and he deserves to be selected by coach McKenna. He has great ball-handling ability and a good shot. He has worked hard all year so someone of this ability and hard work will be so beneficial to our squad.
Marr made an appearance during the Charity Game in April this year and has continued to train with the first team throughout the summer. Now head coach Chris McKenna has selected Marr to be apart of his plans for the season ahead.
“Andy is a great talent and he has fitted in well with the rest of the squad. We have a lot of great guards in the team now so we have plenty of options throughout the season.” said McKenna.
Marr is set to make his mark in next Saturday's (28th August) pre-season friendly against Warrington Wolves. Tip-off 7:30pm.
