After the Hull Wasps outstanding 112-48 win at the weekend over Reddish Rebels, you would naturally expect that the Hull side were on top form that day. However, according to guard, John Kelsey, the guys weren't even playing at their best.
"We didn't even get out of first gear" said Kelsey, who's recent return back from injury has certainly helped towards the Wasps recent run of form.
"I don't mean that to sound disrespectful to Reddish. They were a tough team and we had to keep working hard right until the end. However I do feel that there's more to come from us. Yes we played very well. The best we've played all season but the guys are rairing to go now and put a good run of results together and we know we can play even better than at the weekend."
The Wasps now face a difficult trip up to Tees Valley Mohawks on Saturday followed by another tough tie on Sunday against Leeds Carnegie. They are games though, that Kelsey feels are winnable.
"We definately can win. We've proven it already against the Mohawks. It will be even tougher at their place but I fully expect our guys to perform and I'm confident we can return with the points. Same goes for Leeds. They are a great side and we'll need to work really hard but I'm sure we can put in a performance that can win us the game."
The Wasps next home game is Saturday 6th December at the Gemtec Arena, 7pm.
