The Hull Wasps received a massive blow to their National League campaign today with the news that starting guard, John Kelsey will miss the start of the 2008-2009 campaign.
Kelsey, a key member of the Wasps first team, could be out up until Christmas, meaning the opening half of the season will be without John.
Coach, James Coulson said "The news regarding John is a big blow to the side. He is a hard work and an extremely valued member of our team. His performances in games and in training lift everyone but we will continue to work hard while he's away and show exactly how strong a side the Wasps are."
"We are hoping to have news soon of a new player to join the Wasps but we'll wait and see. "
Coulson also believes the team are more prepared than ever for the coming season.
"The intensity of our training has stepped up each week over the summer and our fitness levels have certainly increased. There's still more work to do and we're hoping to get some pre-season games ready in order to develop game fitness".
