JAMES COULSON STEPS DOWN AS HEAD COACH

Hull Wasps regret to announce that James Coulson has stepped down from position as Head Coach with immediate effect. James has been in charge of the Wasps first team since early 2008, helping the club prepare throughout the summer to start life again in National League.

"James has been fantastic for us and I am extremely sad to see him step down. His personal circumstances and his commitment to his family have unfortunately for us, forced the issue. We completely understand his situation and can only thank him for the marvelous work he has done for this club.

"James was extremely sad that he made this decision but felt it was only fair in helping the team prepare for the new season with a regular coach who could be there for every training session.

"He will remain on board in a consultancy role within the club and the door is always open at any stage, whether this season or next, to return and play and coach, and help out wherever he feels he can help."

The club will make an announcement within the coming weeks on the new coaching set-up but for the time being, Matt Fawcett and Jamie Goodwin will take charge of first team affairs.
