In the build up to this season’s big finale, the Hull Wasps have announced their all new dance team, the Honeys.

The team has been in development over the past few months and the club have chosen to launch them at the last game of the season against the Wirral Hornets at the Gemtec Arena on Saturday 7th March (tip-off 7pm).

“The girls are looking excellent.” said club director, David Bushnell.

“They have been working extremely hard over the past few months to prepare for this game and I can’t wait to see them perform on Saturday.

Rachel Kirby, who heads up the Hull Cheerleading Academy, has put the new Honeys dance team together for the basketball club.

“Rachel has done an amazing job and she has a real passion and talent for the dancing. It once again shows the clubs dedication to improving the game-night entertainment on offer when fans come to our games.”

An all new brand has been put together for the dance team by 3 students from Hull’s School of Art and Design, part of the Hull College Group.

Elisha Delgardo, Andrew Lovell and James Rodgers from the school have worked in conjunction with the club in order to produce the new brand identity for the dance team.

“We would like to thank Elisha, Andrew and James who have done a fantastic job in putting the new identity together. It really compliments our existing brand but gives the dance team their own look and feel. It just shows what great design talent we have in our city.”

The Honeys will be unveiled at this Saturday’s home game at the Gemtec Arena against Wirral Hornets.
