Team Durham Wildcats visit the Gemtec Arena this Saturday evening looking to prevent the Hull Wasps from winning their first game since the turn of the year.
The Wildcats come into the game on good form, winning 4 games out of their last 5. Wasps have lost their last 3 games and will be looking to get back to winning ways against the north east side. The Wasps were defeated in last Sunday's yorkshire derby and without stating the obvious, a poor start for the Wasps was what killed the game.
"Perhaps the occasion got to our players a little but I think mainly we showed them too much respect and we came out too unsettled." said coach James Coulson.
"I’ve said this before and it still applies now, we need to learn to execute and kill off our opposition better than we are doing. We know we can play and we have a talented squad, but we need more solid offensive rebounding and kill off games to take control before we enter the final quarter."
John Brignell will once again miss the game through personal reasons and Matt Fawcett remains injured. Guards Ashley Rice and Neil Rymer will also be absent for the game, but guards John Kelsey, Adrian Blatherwick, Chris Cummings, Liam Wordsworth and Rob Birchmore make the squad. Wasps have also promoted Johny Hills from the Reserves to help overcome the first teams latest absenses.
Captain Jamie Goodwin, James Rayner, Chris McKenna and Angelo Irving will continue in the side from last week, and Jason Munro makes a return to bolster the attack in the key.
