GAME PREVIEW: ILKESTON OUTLAWS

09/01/2009 15:12

Hull Wasps come back after the mid-season break refreshed and renewed and will be taking a strong squad down to Derbyshire in their first game of 2009. Matthew Fawcett remains injured (ankle) and Neil Rymer will miss the trip also.

All other 12 squad members will be making the trip including new signing Angelo Irving. Chris McKenna will be adding his valuable experience in the middle along with captain Jamie Goodwin and centre, John Brignell.

Guards Ashley Rice, Adrian Blatherwick and Chris Cummings make the squad with John Kelsey and Liam Wordsworth returning from injury. Forwards Jason Munro, Rob Birchmore and James Rayner will make the trip also.

Coach James Coulson is optimistic ahead of the clash.

"We're looking strong for our first game back. We're missing out on 2 key players but it's great to be taking 12 guys down there who are all key to the team. Everyone of them make a contribution in our performances and I'm very confident we can come away with the points.

"They took victory at the Gemtec Arena by just 1 point earlier on in the season and that hurt us a lot. Since then we have had some good victories on the road and I'm confident we can continue that run and put ourselves in a great position to face Leeds next Sunday."

Tip-off on Saturday at Bilborough College is 7:00pm.
