Hull Wasp's win over Doncaster Falcons, 74-54, marked a new era in the clubs history. The Derby Cup is the first trophy of the new Wasps team and the game was very special for everyone involved.

Assistant coach and captain, Matthew Fawcett thought the game couldn't have gone better for the home team.

"I thought we came out very aggressively and although we were losing by 1 point after the first, it didn't take us long to put our stamp on the game."

"In the second quarter we started to find some rhythm and at the start of the third quarter we managed to keep our momentum and put the game away during the fourth quarter."

"Personally it was a great game and a great event for everybody involved and I personally believe it's the start of something special."

The new season tips-off for the Wasps on September 20th against Tees Valley Mohawks at The Gemtec Arena. Pre-season games are yet to be confirmed but keep checking the official site as news will be released as soon as possible.
