COULSON: "OUR LACK OF EXECUTION COST US"

In the last game of 2008, Hull Wasps were looking to finish in style. We certainly were entertained from our new National League team but unfortunately the result didn't go our way and Coach James Coulson believes the teams lack of execution cost Hull the game.

"With the Christmas break coming up we where looking to finish the 1st half of the season in style." said Coulson.

"Unfortunately it wasn't to be. We tried to come out showing that even though we lost Matt [Fawcett], we can still compete and we did a good job of putting points on the board. However, our lack of execution in the offences cost us down the stretch."

However, Coulson believes there are many positives to take from the game, and that this problem, he believes, isn't likely to continue into the new year. The National League season continues on January 10th for the Wasps with an away trip to table high-flyers, Ilkeston Outlaws.

"With Neil Rymer and Ashley Rice running the guard spots and an impressive debut by Angelo, I think we proved that we may be down (without Matt) but not out.

"In the new year we will see the return of John Brignall and hopefully it will allow us to give the opposition match up problems and allow the guards to run riot."
