WITH the recent news of additional opponents for the Hull Wasps in National League 4 North during the coming season, it promises to be an exciting season ahead. That is certainly the oppinion of club chairman Dave Bushnell who is relishing the prospect of an extended season.
"From my point of view, this can only be good for us." said Dave.
"I know it can be a long season for the players with all their commitments as well as playing for the team, but I'm sure that they will be the first to say how excited they are about facing these new sides."
14 teams will now compete in National League 4 North which include some interesting new teams. BBL teams Cheshire Jets and Newcastle Eagles have submitted secondary teams, along with Rugby's Super League club, Warrington Wolves.
"The new teams are big names and it's interesting to see that Warrington Wolves have introduced their new basketball team into our league.
"I hope it drives some bigger crowds to the Bonus Arena this year. We are always trying hard to increase crowds and I think when people see the fixtures, they will be looking for those big games."
The new season will begin in September with fixtures to be released during the summer.
