THE DERBY CUP: GAME PREVIEW

25/06/2008 01:14

It's not long now until tip-off to The Derby Cup 2008. Everyone here at the Wasps are really excited about the contest and fully expect a tough test against one of the top sides, in the 2007-2009 doncaster league.

It will no doubt be a fierce contest and certainly a show for everyone to enjoy. The trophy will be presented to the winning side at the end of the game and 12 months is too long a time for assistant player coach, Matthew Fawcett to wait to lift it:

"The Derby Cup is magnificant. We can't wait. We really want to get our hands on the silverware but we know as a team we need to work hard, concentrate and play ball as a team. We definately have the ability to beat the falcons and we don't want to be stood to the side when the trophy gets handed out."

"12 months will be such a long time to wait if we don't win and that's why I know our players will play to their full potential on Saturday."

The Derby Cup will take place at The Gemtec Arena on Saturday 28th June. Doors open at 5pm ready for tip-off at 6pm. Entry is only £3 each and we advise all fans to get in as soon as possible to obtain the best possible view.
