The Wasps losing run continued on Sunday afternoon at the hands of the Team Durham Wildcats. The Hull side were without big man, John Brignell and coach James Coulson on this away trip and it seemed to play a part in the Wasps downfall.
Unlike recent games, Hull played better in the first half than in the second, ending the first and second quarter 15-14 and 28-24 behind. That close gap unfortunately didn't continue after the break with the home side out-scoring the Wasps 23-8 in the third to take control of the game, and ending the quarter 51-32.
Hull couldn't hit back well enough in the fourth and finished the game 69-45 down.
"We lost our focus." Said captain, Matt Fawcett.
"We were lacking a bit of strength and our plays weren't coming off for us. We're still lacking some confidence right now. We know we can pull it back. We're only 3 games into the league season so there's enough time to put things right."
"We have a 2 week break now to get ready for our double-header. We'll be training hard in that time and set some fresh goals."
Jamie Goodwin top-scored for the Wasps with 18 points.
